Frequently Asked Questions

What do we do if some of our members don’t have computers?

Other clubs facing this same situation teamed these individuals with a buddy who did have a computer. The buddy was given the assigned username and password for that person so they could sign them up for games.

We are uncertain if we should get this website as many of our members are older and have a difficult time using computers and the internet.  How is the Golf Group Manager program different?

Our first priority is to make this website simple, logical, user friendly site that is easy to use even for the most apprehensive.  Presently there are over 340 users with the majority over the age of 55.

How much work is involved for our Executive in setting up the website?

GGM will seamlessly upload your member roster from an Excel spread sheet or CVS file in minutes allowing you to email all of your members with a password to give instant access.  All of your existing Word and PDF documents, (Fixture Sheet, Executive contact list, Meeting Minutes, etc.),  can easily be copied and pasted into the sites template.  Weekly games and events have dropdown calendars and options to easily facilitate set up in less than a minute per event.

Does someone on our Executive need to be fully computer literate to set up our website?

The Golf Groups website is set up for everyone to use – no special set of skills other than being able to read, and how to find letters on a keyboard will be needed. We have taken special care to keep it simple so everyone can easily use it.

If we get stuck who can help us?

Numerous ‘Help sections’ are located throughout the site for member usage and for the administrators from your club that are implementing the website.  There is also a contact and feedback section to get assistance.

What experience does GG have in golf clubs and website development?

The Golf Group Manager team has over 15 years of golf executive know-how and website development.  Clubs using this program for the last 4 years are our biggest fans have realized unprecedented member value and buy in.  We know what functions golf leagues need and we know how to deliver these solutions.

How do we start?

  1. Talk to your members about getting a website and provide costs and benefits.
  2. Survey members to ensure they have a computer and internet access.  Arrange for those that don’t by teaming them up with other members.
  3. When approval is received from your membership set your budget
  4. Delegate one member of the Executive to be the primary administrator.  This person will be the one vetting materials to go onto the website, contacting Golf Groups with any problems that arise and will check the site on a regular bases to ensure that all materials are current.
